First of all thanks and curses for turning me onto this game -- I definitely lost at least 45 minutes.

The metagame does, indeed, provide a surprising amount of fun to the game. I also did the "due east" walk and felt like the game was trying to tell me something secret that I was not quite able to ascertain.

I felt like there might have been deeper stories it wanted to tell me -- like there was some order it was keeping just out of view, as in Cube but I could never quite see what it was.

I'm not convinced it was even there -- but the doubt was enough to keep me playing for some time.
